In March 2015 Sultan Ibrahim was crowned the Sultan of Johor, the first royal coronation in 55 years for Johor, Malaysia.
To mark the historic occasion Sultan Ibrahim would wear special coronation attire including a diamond encrusted belt, coronation sword and a new suite of regalia to sit alongside former medals of honour. McCarty had the privilege of being commissioned to produce these historic pieces.
A stunning masterpiece of detail in 18ct yellow gold. Set with hundreds of brilliant cut diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. Each hand made decorative piece is delicately fixed to the scabbard and features miniature versions of the coronation medals on each side. The handle is hand carved in ivorine and finished with a silk rope. The steel blade is blackened, features an acid etched design and gold plated engraving.

Three individual diamond set sections feature the Sultan’s crest and symbols of Johor in 18ct yellow gold. These sit beautifully onto a handwoven belt, a stunning centre piece for the coronation attire.

McCarty were commissioned to produce the insignia to honor the 1st, 2nd and 3rd class awards in celebration of the Coronation.
Sets included a stunning collar, featuring emblems and crests in 18ct gold and enamel. A large breast star, hand pierced, set with diamonds and a pair of 18ct gold epaulettes. They also included a miniature version of the breast star on a hand woven ribbon and 2 medals for use of the neck ribbon and on the decorative collar.
